On August 2, 2015, co-captains Kenneth Wah and William Loo founded Walnut Valley Robotics with the dream of creating a team that would foster creative minds from schools in the local areas. A humble garage soon became home to students from Walnut, Diamond Bar, and Troy High School seeking an environment for STEM inspiration. On March 2, 2016, we competed in the 2016 FRC San Diego Regional, winning the Rookie Inspiration Award.
In our second, third, and fourth seasons, Kenneth and Willam passed the team onto a younger captain, Oscar Chou. And with this new leadership, our team found new heights. Following a team re-brand and becoming a regional quarter-finalist and Engineering Inspiration Award winner in 2018 and 2019, respectively, we were invited to FRC World Championships in Houston.
After seeing the results of our previous season, our young team is now led by three captains: two in Engineering (Satvik Muddana and Ivan Lin) and one in Administration (Alice Chou). With a captain focused on the Business side of our team, we are more organized than ever. Additionally, we secured an experienced mentor, David Black of Team 696. Our young team has already made giant leaps, including being ranked first at the So Cal LA Fall Classic Offseason Competition.
